Red Flag
I thought tonight was going to be an important show, and in many ways it was. One we saw the beginning of Jonahs downfall, two we saw Stanley get to have someone in his life, Mimi. I like her, she has spunk but can admit when she is acting wrong. We also see the first death due to this ongoing feud between Jonah and the town, but I know it was not Jonah who killed Gracie, it was that Mitch
. I had planned on talking more about the food stuffs that were dropped, with those posters that said Do Not Fight; and about how Eric is being absolutely dumbass. I will tomorrow in-between baking my pies and turkey.
I have not had a chance to go see the newest countdown vid, and will post about that as well.My questions for tonight show, why did they ( who “they” are I cant guess yet) drop this stuff on the people of Jericho? I mean, how did they know that there were people in Jericho? I think that the death of Gracie was coming, my husband said no more than 10 seconds before she was killed that she was going to be in serious trouble. She played on the wrong side of the playground, and she got burned.
look for my post about the show tomorrow about mid afternoon, as soon as I stuff that big T into the oven.

Thanksgiving Day Addon
Well, the Turkey has been cooked and eaten, all the pies look like casualties of war. The family has been given all the best I have, so now I can write my thoughts on last nights show.
What I liked ~
The fact that they were trying to hunt the turkey ( but could they have eaten it?)
That the generator and the chocolate landed with Mimi and Stanley ( I think chocolate would be more important to me at that point than booze!)
What I did not like ~
That Heather was not involved with Thanksgiving Dinner, after that kiss with Jake, we see nothing else of any type of personal time between the two. He looked to me like he was feeling the same about her, now….. I see his leaning back to Emily. Yes, she has some pull with Jonah, since he is her Dad; but still…. she was none too happy to see him back in town at first , Jake should not look past Heather.
I think that next weeks episode might be where Roger comes back, just something I saw in the preview, but I am not sure.
The problems I see now are these -
1. Someone killed Gracie ( we know it was Mitch, because of what he said to Jonah, and how he acted early in the show around Gracie) so now , there has to be a legal type search, but some folks are not going to like the way it will be handled.
2. Gray wants the Mayors job, and is hassling him about it, getting an election. This will eventually take some of the towns energies that are better spent figuring out how to survive winter. I have been through the Kansas area in winter, and unless things have changed, it gets darn cold, frozen. There should be drives for warm clothes, blankets , heat sources, and food. Don’t spend time on trivial things, like elections. To me , this shows that the towns people are being led around like sheep ( oh no, I said the “S” word LOL), as if they have no mind of their own.
3. The issue of Eric leaving his wife, for another woman. I know love is love is love, but at this time, no man is going to just dump his wife and go off with someone else. This war would bring back into perspective all the important things for a person. And that woman, she should act like a lady and let go! She has acted like a petty school girl, whiny and irritating as heck.
The good things I am seeing
That Hawkins is finally being a more open person, and seems to be really wanting to fix his family problems. That he went home and got his family to show them what he had been doing was super. I am sorry I was so suspicious of him before, I too fall prey to judging books by the covers
but for me, survival has become about being able to judge a person by their actions, so I might have to work on that some.
I like that Stanley and Mimi are getting close ( did I say that already?) and I think they are just perfect for each other. He is just so darn cute and nice, and she has shown she is more than an iceberg, she is human, and actually pretty cool.
I like that in the end, it was shown that if one rides the fence, one gets hurt. Gracie being like she was, and dealing with Jonah, was bad for the town. She had a driving force that will no longer have a place in society after a war like this, she had a bad case of greed. And sadly she woke up too late. But it was good that they showed that, might makes people realize that in real life, actions always have consequences.
The writers need to concentrate on the fact that winter is coming, Kansas style. If they want this to be beliveable, they better start writing as if they actually looked into how Kansas is. Are there really hills that look like that there? Looked exactly like the San Jose hills to me.
The rating for this episode – 8/10.
Now for the countdown video -
It was good to show that there are things we can get that will enhance our chances of survival, but the cost? Making money off of terrorism to me smacks of evil, the government spends so much, they could afford to get each family all these things right now. Why make us pay for things we will only need due to government policies? This video was not informative or even interesting, and I wonder what they *the writers* are heading off to with the way they left Hawkins lying on the ground.
Oh, and I am none too happy about the fact that I have to wait until February to see the rest of my show, if you writers are reading this blog, maybe you could see your way to slipping a few episodes to us faithful fans *wink*
Until next week, be safe, and tell your loved ones how much they really matter to you, it all could be gone in a second.
