Crossroads ~ November 16th episode

Well, I wanted to get an early few thoughts before the show tomorrow night. I went to IDMb to see what others were talking about, and such. Saw an interesting post about Jericho fanfiction! I must admit that is not something I had thought about , and I think it will be something to keep an eye on if this show takes off like I think it will.

I plan on reviewing the show tomorrow night, right after so that I dont miss as much I as I did two shows ago, and then watch the new countdown video. I hope to figure out what they mean for the countdown vid to do for the show, draw more viewers? Maybe however unless I missed this as well, they do not mention it in the show, so you wont know about it unless you got to the CBS site regularly.

I would like to begin the section on survival websites , so if folks would begin passing on to me sites that are of real value I will begin to get them listed in the links section.

Until tomorrow night, have a wonderful day tomorrow and God Bless

Hmmmmmmmm…… first, instead , no before blowing the bridge, kill the idiots. Simple, kill them, before they come back and treat your town like the locusts they are. Odds are with what Eric and Jake and the Doctor can say about these morons, you can safely say that they are NOT from any government agency. And Government who? For all you know, theĀ  government is You now. Why in the heck would the words of the pepole not count, especially at this time? I think at this point, with Eric and Jakes words about how this government group (known as Ravenwood) acted at a hospital, this would have been catalyst enough to make everyone, mayor included see that isolation is the only means of survival.

I will put more of my thought here tomorrow, it has been a long day for me, and I am more than beat. I will say this though, did the writers finally select the bad guys? China? I have not yet viewed the countdown video, which will undoubtably hold more clues about this possible Chinese connection, but I have to wonder at this choice, if that is what we will see next week. I think in the few seconds of the preview, that I saw a flyer in the dropped shipments, and it had a chinese flag (possibly) and the words at the top saying DO NOT FIGHT, did anyone else see this?

so, in closing , I say again, hmmmmmmmmmmm.

rating for tonights show – 8/10

night all

Definitely include survivalblog.com on your list of sites.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s show, although I’ll only be able to catch it via web. :(

    hello landshark
great, will get to work, I am not sure how to include a separate set of links, so I think I will have to just make a running comment page for it.I will also include in the links section as well on all the pages.
Sorry about not getting to view on TV but last week when I had to do the same, I kind of liked not having the every 5 minute commercials to deal with :-) while viewing it on the web.
Be back with my comments on tonights episode, after the show.

Well, I finally saw the show. I have to agree with you, kystorms, and with many people on the yahoo group, that they should have killed the Ravenwood bunch is possible. Problem is, I think, that they really weren’t prepared mentally for it. IIRC, Kurt mentioned the mindset issue on yahoo. I see the Jericho folks heading out and “freezing up”. They ended up ducked behind cover and were clearly over their head. Moreover, the Ravenwood guys knew it. I’m not so sure that the Jericho folks could have taken Ravenwood on and won.

There were actually studies that examined how many soldiers actually fired their weapon when in combat. I can’t recall the exact numbers, but it was shockingly low for WWII. By Desert Storm and the training reforms (and all-volunteer force too), the numbers had climbed quite a bit. Experience and training counts for quite a bit.

Now, if they had wired the bridge with improvised claymores and put the switch in Hawkins’s hand, then I think Ravenwood would have been seriously hurting.

Looking forward to next week and the “Chinese connection”

You are so right about the lack of emotional attachment to living they displayed right at the bridge. I can relate tho, when i lived in Iran, and the revolution began, toward the end when they were blowing up buildings, and turning off our electricity every night on our housing base, it was sheer terror. But I can also say, there comes a moment when you do decide to stand up and either die or kill what is coming at you.
We were without benefit of American troops while there, and I can tell you, the mothers of all us kids there were more than ready to kick a** on who ever was dumb enough to come over the walls :-)
So, that kind of explains my jump at the folks on the bridge, I can relate but not when they folded their arms over their heads and cringed. I think after a nuke drops and EMPs are going off around you, your survival instincts kick into high gear. In reality, people would be looking for guns and something to shoot 10 seconds after the bombs dropped, well at least here in Kentucky they would :-)
I can not wait for Wednesdays show, it will be interesting to see if what i think is what will be, the countdown vid gave no hints what so ever about the coming show.
until then, have a good one and god bless

no comment this am. actually just anted to see what others were saying. this is one of my favorite shows and needless to say when i don’t get to see it i am disappointed. there is one thing i would like to see more of anhd that is reference to God. Was there no religion or spiritual actions going on in Jerico before the bomb?

    hello Phyllis

I agree with you, when the show is preempted for some other show, its a bit much. I hope that for the rest of the season they take the loyal viewers into account. I was actually thinking of writing to CBS about this as well, why remove the show for Survivor?
anyway, thanks for coming and commenting, please feel free to do so any time

Oh, forgot to add that I also agree about the lack of mentions of God in the show, seems to me that if a church were still standing, that would be the first place everyone would go after such an event, such as we all saw with 9/11. Anyway , that would be the first place I would go.
