Vox Populi ~ episode 11

Just a few quick comments, as its late. First, at the end of the show a web address was posted

“www.whodroppedthebomb.com”, which I went to. It redirected to the Jericho website, which now has the links to its chosen community and message boards. I went briefly, and its going to be nice to have a place, but needs to have us regular and faithful belong or it wont really matter. ( Just my opinion anyway). I am a bit miffed that they waited until now to bring these two sites up, when the discussions we have been having here and especially over at the Yahoo group have been going on since day one. Oh well, at least it is done now.

I am happy about Stanley and Mimi, as I have said before. I like her, she is honest.

Gray is a very bad thing for Jericho, and the reason he is acting like he is , is because of his guilt over the murder he committed in the mine. ( Again, just my opinion)

For the last two shows, Heather has been AWOL, and I have to wonder at the sloppy way they are all of a sudden making her disappear. Shame on the writers.

I am confident that Jonah is not gone for good, and for the towns sake, I hope he comes back. He is the only one besides Jake and Hawkins who displayed any real survival instincts.

I am glad that Hawkins is getting along better with his family, but the problems are who is he talking to on the laptop, ( my opinion, Government take over for the record) and this I am sure of in my own mind; by the satellite link showing his wife and boy in the yard.

That is not something a small group would have access to , has to be a Inside coup. On the website I put up at top, the one shown tonight, is a discussion about a mysterious women who was stopped outside St. Louis by a police man? What is that? Says she has been lurking around Jericho,  again, who is this? I have not seen any person so far that stood out that could be this mysterious woman.

Tonight’s show, for me was not  well written, the way they had the election, not much discussion about it, nor preparations seen during the show. Seems to me the writers knew that they needed it in the story, but were not prepared to expend any real time on its writing.

As for Jonah, his almost being killed outright was a very good barometer of how Gray’s Mayor-ship is going to go until someone stops him. I think they ( the towns people) are very shortly (well in February anyway)going need Jonah.

Dale, Dale; where do I being? I knew it was Mitch who killed Gracie as I am sure most everyone did. But to have Dale go and just shoot him, I think it is not really how Dale would have done it. I could be wrong, but the kid doesn’t seem like a cold blooded killer, and that move of his was just that. Not that Mitch did not have it coming, he surely did. This just doesn’t seem to be how the town would fall apart realistically. Any basic 101 in Sociology will show that the disorder would have either begun immediately and in full swing or not at all. We see the town basically acting like everything is the same, from when the bombs dropped until now; then they begin to slowly go nuts, but in small increments.

Ok, now for the arrival of the new comers. In this crowd we see Roger, makes for a sticky place as far as Jake and Emily are concerned. But with her daydreams about not really wanting to marry him, we know where this will go. I am betting Gray has the kick em out attitude.

Last thoughts:

the food – should have been taken care of before now, but I stick to my guns about winter coming and their needing to stockpile. Hand it out now, and just like kids on Halloween, it will be gone the next day.

Stanley’s little sisters radical behavior, not what I would have expected from her character, but in reality is what a teen who is ticked off at their parents, would do.

Rating for this show (since it is the last for a while) I give it a 8/10.

I will post about the countdown vid when I get to see it, probably tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Red Flag

Red Flag

I thought tonight was going to be an important show, and in many ways it was. One we saw the beginning of Jonahs downfall, two we saw Stanley get to have someone in his life, Mimi. I like her, she has spunk but can admit when she is acting wrong. We also see the first death due to this ongoing feud between Jonah and the town, but I know it was not Jonah who killed Gracie, it was that Mitch :-( . I had planned on talking more about the food stuffs that were dropped, with those posters that said Do Not Fight; and about how Eric is being absolutely dumbass. I will tomorrow in-between baking my pies and turkey.

I have not had a chance to go see the newest countdown vid, and will post about that as well.My questions for tonight show, why did they ( who “they” are I cant guess yet) drop this stuff on the people of Jericho? I mean, how did they know that there were people in Jericho? I think that the death of Gracie was coming, my husband said no more than 10 seconds before she was killed that she was going to be in serious trouble. She played on the wrong side of the playground, and she got burned.

look for my post about the show tomorrow about mid afternoon, as soon as I stuff that big T into the oven.
~:-)~

Thanksgiving Day Addon

Well, the Turkey has been cooked and eaten, all the pies look like casualties of war. The family has been given all the best I have, so now I can write my thoughts on last nights show.

What I liked ~

The fact that they were trying to hunt the turkey ( but could they have eaten it?)
That the generator and the chocolate landed with Mimi and Stanley ( I think chocolate would be more important to me at that point than booze!)

What I did not like ~

That Heather was not involved with Thanksgiving Dinner, after that kiss with Jake, we see nothing else of any type of personal time between the two. He looked to me like he was feeling the same about her, now….. I see his leaning back to Emily. Yes, she has some pull with Jonah, since he is her Dad; but still…. she was none too happy to see him back in town at first , Jake should not look past Heather.

I think that next weeks episode might be where Roger comes back, just something I saw in the preview, but I am not sure.

The problems I see now are these -

1. Someone killed Gracie ( we know it was Mitch, because of what he said to Jonah, and how he acted early in the show around Gracie) so now , there has to be a legal type search, but some folks are not going to like the way it will be handled.

2. Gray wants the Mayors job, and is hassling him about it, getting an election. This will eventually take some of the towns energies that are better spent figuring out how to survive winter. I have been through the Kansas area in winter, and unless things have changed, it gets darn cold, frozen. There should be drives for warm clothes, blankets , heat sources, and food. Don’t spend time on trivial things, like elections. To me , this shows that the towns people are being led around like sheep ( oh no, I said the “S” word LOL), as if they have no mind of their own.

3. The issue of Eric leaving his wife, for another woman. I know love is love is love, but at this time, no man is going to just dump his wife and go off with someone else. This war would bring back into perspective all the important things for a person. And that woman, she should act like a lady and let go! She has acted like a petty school girl, whiny and irritating as heck.

The good things I am seeing

That Hawkins is finally being a more open person, and seems to be really wanting to fix his family problems. That he went home and got his family to show them what he had been doing was super. I am sorry I was so suspicious of him before, I too fall prey to judging books by the covers :-) but for me, survival has become about being able to judge a person by their actions, so I might have to work on that some.

I like that Stanley and Mimi are getting close ( did I say that already?) and I think they are just perfect for each other. He is just so darn cute and nice, and she has shown she is more than an iceberg, she is human, and actually pretty cool.

I like that in the end, it was shown that if one rides the fence, one gets hurt. Gracie being like she was, and dealing with Jonah, was bad for the town. She had a driving force that will no longer have a place in society after a war like this, she had a bad case of greed. And sadly she woke up too late. But it was good that they showed that, might makes people realize that in real life, actions always have consequences.

The writers need to concentrate on the fact that winter is coming, Kansas style. If they want this to be beliveable, they better start writing as if they actually looked into how Kansas is. Are there really hills that look like that there? Looked exactly like the San Jose hills to me.

The rating for this episode – 8/10.

Now for the countdown video -

It was good to show that there are things we can get that will enhance our chances of survival, but the cost? Making money off of terrorism to me smacks of evil, the government spends so much, they could afford to get each family all these things right now. Why make us pay for things we will only need due to government policies? This video was not informative or even interesting, and I wonder what they *the writers* are heading off to with the way they left Hawkins lying on the ground.

Oh, and I am none too happy about the fact that I have to wait until February to see the rest of my show, if you writers are reading this blog, maybe you could see your way to slipping a few episodes to us faithful fans *wink*

Until next week, be safe, and tell your loved ones how much they really matter to you, it all could be gone in a second.

Crossroads ~ November 16th episode

Well, I wanted to get an early few thoughts before the show tomorrow night. I went to IDMb to see what others were talking about, and such. Saw an interesting post about Jericho fanfiction! I must admit that is not something I had thought about , and I think it will be something to keep an eye on if this show takes off like I think it will.

I plan on reviewing the show tomorrow night, right after so that I dont miss as much I as I did two shows ago, and then watch the new countdown video. I hope to figure out what they mean for the countdown vid to do for the show, draw more viewers? Maybe however unless I missed this as well, they do not mention it in the show, so you wont know about it unless you got to the CBS site regularly.

I would like to begin the section on survival websites , so if folks would begin passing on to me sites that are of real value I will begin to get them listed in the links section.

Until tomorrow night, have a wonderful day tomorrow and God Bless

edit  9:05 pm

Hmmmmmmmm…… first, instead , no before blowing the bridge, kill the idiots. Simple, kill them, before they come back and treat your town like the locusts they are. Odds are with what Eric and Jake and the Doctor can say about these morons, you can safely say that they are NOT from any government agency. And Government who? For all you know, the  government is You now. Why in the heck would the words of the pepole not count, especially at this time? I think at this point, with Eric and Jakes words about how this government group (known as Ravenwood) acted at a hospital, this would have been catalyst enough to make everyone, mayor included see that isolation is the only means of survival.

I will put more of my thought here tomorrow, it has been a long day for me, and I am more than beat. I will say this though, did the writers finally select the bad guys? China? I have not yet viewed the countdown video, which will undoubtably hold more clues about this possible Chinese connection, but I have to wonder at this choice, if that is what we will see next week. I think in the few seconds of the preview, that I saw a flyer in the dropped shipments, and it had a chinese flag (possibly) and the words at the top saying DO NOT FIGHT, did anyone else see this?

so, in closing , I say again, hmmmmmmmmmmm.

rating for tonights show – 8/10

night all

Rouge River and the countdown video for this episode

Ok, I was finally able to watch the show this afternoon. I wont go through the blow by blow today, mainly just the most important ( to me anyway) highlights.

I want to start with the fact that this episode was really very good. I was happy to see it gripped me, and I became more involved than before.

Some of my views:

1. Eric and Jake at the hospital:

What I saw was what I would expect, a scary ops team coming in, shooting those that they decided were of no use, or were too sick and therefor a liability, and like the locusts they acted like, they came, killed and took.

That Jake was able to keep his head, and get the situation with the one good guy soldier was played very well. I felt it was truthful, not over acted. And I liked that they discussed the fact that Levaquion is a more potent drug in some situations than cipro. I know this to be true from experience.  I was actually sad when the poor soldier chose to keep the bad at bay while Eric and Jake got away.  That was a true soldier, even if he did do wrong initially.

2. I loved that Heather recalled how to make ice, and either tonight or tomorrow after classes I will be looking that info up, that is a great peice of life saving information to know.

3.The house to house preformed by Gray, priceless. Here we see a man who before the bombs was feeling as he were the “only” person fit to run the town, and he is the perfect example of how some will begin to act. We saw it implied that he killed that man in the mines, and we will see more  behavior changes in him in the future I am sure. There is a name for that kind of behavior, I think it is called Machiavellian behaviors. I could be wrong here, any Psych majors reading????

I am liking Hawkins more and more, only because of how his child is acting. I have 6 teens, and I know that they do not like adult liars, and will not act in a relaxed manner if they do not trust you. Since she has become more relaxed with him, I see that I am to trust him. Maybe he was involved in what ever happened, or knew about it a bit too late, I dont know. I just feel that there is so much more to him than I had originally believed.

Now, when one views the countdown video on the CBS website, we see that this feeling of mine might be correct. I only saw this countdown once before, last week after the episode. If I missed more, some one let me know.

I am going to ask that you view that count down video from this episdoe, and then if you are concerned about what you see ( or not) come back here and comment. I am , after having searched this info out and finding it to be in fact true, very upset.

I will say now, that the thought of some other government having their soldiers here on my soil and the fact that they were in fact attached to the Department of Homeland security, makes me wonder allot about what is really happening here in my country. I do not care that they were in a capacity of private protection, they were from a non American government, period!
I can tell you now, that I thought I had watched all the news reports on CNN and some on MSNCB before, during and after Katrina for the first two weeks. I saw much that upset me believe me. But never once did I see what I see on this count down video. Maybe I was not paying close enough attention.
I wonder if there was a reason this video was posted by the writers, and to be honest with you, I had originally thought that it was simply for the show, and not real. Wrong, and the few posts and news articles I have found mentioning these organizations from 2005 are in my links section.

Bottom line ~
I loved the episode, it was wonderful and I hope that the rest go as well. The writers are living up to my hopes and expectations I had at the beginning of the show.

Big thanks to the writers for adding the countdown video, it has informed me and others of things we needed to see.

your views?????

If you are a Cat fan, and a basketball fan, you might want to look away now…. I am ticked off beyond belief!

I do not get to view this weeks episode of Jericho because the UK Wildcats are on the station instead, so I will have to wait until I can view the episode on the net tomorrow for my ‘nightly’ chat about it. I will go hang in the forums in a bit to see if someone can tell me what happened.

I wonder, since I have gotten a new found sense of freedom of vote, if I can email my local CBS station and tell them that not everyone is a basketball fan, and who asked me if I minded them hijacking my television.?

:-( until tomorrow

Ok, tonight I feel slightly better than last week, this time its a hectic voting day, coupled with sick kids :-) But I promise a well written synopsis of the show, delivered right after the show has ended. I would love to get my hands on a laptop, so I could just write as the show was occuring, maybe if I am good Santa will bring me one????

It is 7:23 pm, so I am off to get some tea, and get my old fashioned paper and pencil ready. I am uneasy about tonights show for some reason, not sure why tho. Some has asked that I not be so negative :-) and I promised I would try to keep it down, I just hope that the show picks the pace up about the outside world a bit, after all that fact is so important to how everyone is Jericho is going to operate, to live! And, I hope we see more about Stanley, he is just the bees knees, LOL. Anyway, will be back here at 9:05 pm :-) , hope to see your comments soon.

Opps, almost forgot, I have been asked if I will use this blog as a place for links pertaining to survival and such, and I will. I just want links that are of a certain standard, not links that are for scaring people, but that contain real information. So I will leave it to you all, if you have links that fit this category, please leave me a link and I will include here. I find it is so important to be informed, and that is part of any writers obligation, no matter what media is being used.

I was happy to read this report, now that CNN has picked it up as a news read, and we have all of our blogs, and yahoo groups going strong, maybe now the excitement over this show will get to the next level, which includes more attention!

This post has nothing to do with Jericho, but I am posting here because I am hoping for support from any who might read here :-)

As of 10:30 am this morning, I have quit smoking. I have been smoking for longer than I care to admit, and until this morning, the real and intense conviction to stop has never ever been on me. I am firm in my commitment to stop, that much is true. I mentioned on my other post that I had heard that it only takes 30 days to form a new habit, I hope that this is true.

Stopping smoking is painful for one who is so deeply addicted. I hope if anyone comes here, and has gone through this themselves, they will post. I will be a wreck I know for a few days, but maybe it will decline in its effects over the next few days.

I might post a ton, due to my nervousness, so I hope every one understands. I will try to keep it down tho.

Count down video on CBS Jericho site

Has anyone else viewed the countdown video on the website for Jericho at CBS? I wonder about this, since interspersed with shots of (presumably) Hawkins typing to someone, we see and hear about the effects of Nuclear bombs on our bodies, and at the end it seems his position is compromised and he is found out, Men in commando attire coming down the stairs! I wonder where the heck the directors are going, and what this countdown video has to do with the show????

I am just eternally grateful that so far, the writers have not gone to the LOST type of show.

I read on the IMDb website for Jericho on the boards some really interesting thoughts, one of which grabbed my attention because the other night I missed seeing this ; there was a snow globe??? And some at the Jericho board think that this might be due to a Citizen Kane moment?
I am really happy to find that more are discussing this show, still wonder why they have a link at the website on CBS for a community, but no working link?

For everyone who is interested in the Jericho boards at IMDb, I have included the link in my links section.

Hello readers

I have been wondering why no one seems to be posting, there were two folks and the nothing. Is it something about the posts I make, or the way the site is set up? I really wanted this to be a place where we can tall discuss the show, and have a great time meeting each other.

That being said, maybe I never invited anyone to comment, so now I will :-)

I have some silly notion that CBS will pick my blog to be the new community for the show, I know…. pie in the sky, but that would be so great!

Hope you all drop by, and leave a comment
